I am absolutely THRILLED that Erika Zapien is our October Spotlight!!  She is kind, encouraging, and an absolute ROCKSTAR during the workouts!!

I believe that the quality of your life is in direct proportion to the kind of people you surround yourself with. Being around an amazing person like Erika truly will enhance the quality of your life! We asked Erika to share her inspiration and what keeps her motivated.  I hope that some of her inspiration rubs off on YOU today!

Q: What are your personal health and fitness goals?

Feeling physically, mentally, and emotionally better is my goal. To feel better and be healthier.

Q: What ONE thing keeps you most focused and motivated to continue to work hard to reach your goals?

I signed up for a regular membership and have committed myself to attend 3-4 workouts per week. It hasn’t been easy, getting up at 4:30 in the morning has never been my “cup of tea” but once I’m there I try to give my all. I am finally doing something that is FOR ME.

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started with us?

My story may provide a sense of familiarity to many. I am 40 years old, work outside of the home, wife of 12 years, mom of 2 amazing boys, a daughter, sister and aunt. I wear many “hats” of life that typically give me a sense of fulfillment, but about two years ago I began to feel stuck and in need of change. I had given priority to all these different roles; being the giver and provider of everything but it left me with no time to take care of myself.

In addition, I had gotten to the point that every time I visited my doctor regarding some ache or pain the underlying issue was my weight. I decided to finally do something about it and that is when I began my search for a gym and fitness center that fit my needs, where I could be comfortable and not feel overwhelmed not knowing what to do or where to start.

Q: What kinds of milestones have you accomplished and what specific results have you achieved so far?

I am reaping the reward of my hard work. I feel better, I have more energy and even my clothes are fitting better. At seven weeks I was down 14 pounds and this is just the beginning for me.

Q: What made you decide to want to join Village Coach Fitness?

The center was not too big, close to my home, it offered variety and most of all I could tell there was a great support system here.

Q: What kinds of results have you achieved so far?

Changing my diet and working out was a shock to my body, but I was committed and kept at it. After 21 days I had lost 7 pounds. That first 7-pound weight loss got me so excited! Not only did I lose weight, but I also felt physically, mentally and emotionally better and that is my goal, to feel better and healthier.

Q: What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change & committing to their goals?

I visited a couple of places before coming to Village Coach Fitness and none of them felt right. Then I set an appointment with Coach Fatimat and it all seemed to click. There’s great variety here and most of all I could tell there was a great support system here. I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into, but with the help and guidance from all the coaches I started making changes and followed the program.
